SOCK HOP FINAL REPORT
Where do I even begin to thank everyone who gave so generously of their time and energy to make the 13th Annual Sock Hop and Car Cruise another huge success?! We couldn’t have been more blessed with an absolutely perfect weather day. It began with a beautiful, outdoor worship service at the Cross Pavilion and ended with Trinity playing an inspiring set of some of their favorite worship songs. I will start by thanking the many people who donated the beautiful baskets for the Gift Basket Auction. We had 46 baskets and 86 Silent Auction items that brought in a lot of donations. There were also an all time record high number of 65 car cruise entries! Every penny of the money will be used in various ways to help the less fortunate in our area and around the world.
I want to say a HUGE thank you to everyone who pitched in to help – the fill list is in our Tidings newsletter. We could never do an event of this magnitude without all of your dedication, hard work, help and support! Also, thank you to everyone who came and took part in the event. I hope everyone had a good meal and enjoyed an afternoon/evening of fun and fellowship! The following businesses very generously gave donations to support our cause and helped to make the event a huge success. Please be sure to frequent their businesses and thank them for their support:

SOCK HOP 2017
Sunday, July 30th 2:30 – 8:00 PM
Our 13th Annual Sock Hop and Car Cruise is right around the corner, so mark your calendars and plan on coming to the upper church parking lot on Sunday, July 30th from 2:30 – 8:00 PM! This is Outreach Council’s biggest fundraiser of the year, so bring your family and friends for a fun-filled afternoon/evening of great food, live music, dancing, car cruise, kids’ games, and Gift Basket /Silent Auctions. There will be fun for all ages!
In order to have a quality event of this magnitude, we need lots of help. Please pick up a Gift Basket donation request slip from the table in the Narthex. There are many themes to pick from. Choose one that you would like to purchase items pertaining to that theme, or make up your own theme, follow the directions on the paper, and return your basket to the church by July 9th. We will be placing the baskets in the Narthex for several weeks prior to the event, so anyone who can’t come the day of the Sock Hop can purchase tickets in advance and still have a chance to win! Also, if you have any empty baskets that you are not using and would like to donate to be used as a gift basket, please place them under the table in the Narthex. Anyone who needs a basket for their items may feel free to take one. Or, just bring your items to the church, and we will be happy to wrap your items for you.
There is a lot of work to be done, so we are looking for anyone who is willing to help! We need people to help in the kitchen with food preparations and hauling items on Saturday, help on Sunday with set up and clean-up, and many people are needed to serve at the food booths during the event. In the near future, there will be sign-up sheets posted on the bulletin board in the Narthex for all of these tasks. Please consider giving an hour or two of your time to help us raise money for the less fortunate in our area and around the world. You’ll meet a lot of great people and have some fun too! All help is greatly appreciated; we can’t do it without you. At the very least, please come and enjoy some good food with some great friends!
All proceeds will directly benefit the many charities and mission trips that Outreach Council supports. Please lend a hand and do whatever you can to help make this another successful event. Attending Sock Hop has become a wonderful summer family tradition. Don’t miss it!
